Who We Are

“We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the Gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us.” 1 Thessalonians 2:8
The South Dakota District is one of the 35 Districts that make up The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS). The mission of The South Dakota District is the same as the mission for The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod: In grateful response to God’s grace and empowered by the Holy Spirit through Word and Sacraments, the mission of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod is vigorously to make known the love of Christ by word and deed within our churches, communities, and the world.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Proverbs 3:5-6

I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

John 14:6

The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him. The LORD is the strength of his people, a fortress of salvation for his anointed one.

Psalm 28:7-8

Go on up to a high mountain,  O Zion, herald of good news; lift up your voice with strength, O Jerusalem, herald of good news; lift it up, fear not; say to the cities of Judah,  “Behold your God!”

Isaiah 40:9

Behold, my servant shall act wisely; he shall be high and lifted up, and shall be exalted.

Isaiah 52:13

And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up
