"What is truth?" That is the famous question that Pontius Pilate asked Jesus some 2,000 years ago. And it is the same question asked by millions of people today. So what is truth? How do we know truth? Where do we find truth? And once we receive the truth, how do we defend it? These questions and more will be covered in this Higher Things Retreat designed for high school students in grades 9-12. The sessions are designed to not only help students understand Truth from a Christian perspective, but also defend Truth from competing ideologies at work in this complex world that students find themselves in.
Leading the discussions will be Rev. Dr. Matthew Richard, Pastor, St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Minot, ND. He is the author of the book, "Will the Real Jesus Please Stand Up: 12 False Christ's."
(Rev. Dr. Matthew Richard)
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him. The LORD is the strength of his people, a fortress of salvation for his anointed one.

Behold, my servant shall act wisely; he shall be high and lifted up, and shall be exalted.
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up
