The 61st Convention of The South Dakota District was held April 19-21, 2018 at the Sioux Falls Convention Center, Sioux Falls, SD. The convention theme was: "Behold Your God! What Help! What Hope!" based on Isaiah 40:9. The essayist/Bible study leader was Rev. Dr. Reed Lessing, Senior Pastor, St. Michael Lutheran Church, Ft. Wayne, IN. His essay/Bible study focused on Isaiah 40-55 and proclaimed the help and hope that the world has because God, in Jesus Christ, has redeemed the world from sin and death. The convention's opening Divine Worship service took place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2200 South Western Avenue, Sioux Falls, SD.
